Welcome to North Run Baptist Prekindergarten!
We are excited to have the opportunity to share our school with your child. During the past 38 years we have educated children spiritually, socially, physically and emotionally.
Our staff is trained and experienced in helping your child gain the necessary skills to be successful in kindergarten. Class size is limited so that each child can receive individual attention.
Our school is state licensed and has a staff certified in First Aid, CPR, and MAT. We also perform regular fire drills.
Schedule
Our schedule is Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:45 a.m to 12:00 noon. We follow Henrico County Public Schools schedule for closings due to bad weather, holiday closings and student workdays or half-days.
We offer a car pool line for drop-off and pick-up or you may choose to walk your child to the door and pick them up that way, too.
Your child’s teacher will make a special visit to your home in August to meet you and your child, go over the student handbook and other pertinent information, and answer any questions you may have.
Special Events
Special events include: Open house; Family Nights; Halloween Costume Parade and Parties; Thanksgiving Feast; Snack with Santa; Christmas Parties; Valentine Parties; Annual Art Show and Reception; PreKindergarten Sunday; Easter Egg Hunts and Parties; Parent/Child Picnic; End-of-the-Year Program; and Graduation for 4’s with Reception.
Curriculum
Our curriculum is very flexible with enough routine to give a child a sense of security. Our activities include:
- Creative art
- Music
- Stories
- Field trips and visits from resource people
- Small and large group play
- Snack time (parents provide snack daily)
- Sharing time and group discussions
- Show and Tell
- Basic science concepts
- Use of the alphabet and numbers in daily activities
- Daily practice with fine and gross motor skills
- Bible stories, verses, and songs
- Outside play
